There`s nothing worse than having to sort out household plumbing and drainage problems in the depths of winter so why not do it now!
We`ve listed a few easy tasks recommended by dyno.com that you can perform in the summer months that may pay dividends in the winter.
In your bathroom you can clean your showerhead by removing it and leaving in a bowl of vinegar overnight. In the morning scrub off any lime-scale deposits with an old toothbrush and re-fit.
Test all external and internal taps to see whether water is flowing freely and leak free.
Pour water into any waste outlets that are used infrequently to stop nasty odours around your home.
Check any pipe insulation that is fitted is still intact and in good condition.
Clear all debris and leaves etc from external drains.
Where safe to do so ensure gutters are free from all debris, leaves etc. you may need to seek the services of a professional to do this due to height of your guttering.
Having had a lot of use over the winter, the summer is also a good time to have your central heating serviced or checked by a qualified
engineer.

Perhaps you already have a summer routine and can add to this list!

Talk to the plumber about your options. Generally, you can install a new tank or switch to a tankless system. There are benefits to either option, but for those who want to have hot water right away and keep costs low as well, a tankless system may be one of the best options on the market. Most of the time, these systems run far more efficiently than others and they can also be longer lasting.
