Tell them you are not well Lancashire Lass, it's not worth making yourself worse is it? And if they do still come, well then surely they can help out, isn't that what families are for?
Be kind to yourself Lancashire Lass, please be kind to yourself, it's not worth making yourself worse. As women, we push ourselves too hard...well in my opinion it's time this stopped, we are not robots we are human beings.
LL, it's horrible to feel under the weather any time but this time of year when there are so many things to do everything seems to be such an effort. Plenty of fluids and rest when you can. If your visitors offer to help have a list of things that you can delegate. We are very good at saying 'no, you sit down its all under control '. I hope you start to feel better soon. Xx

Thank you everyone for your warm wishes and suggestions. I’ve taken Barroca and Cold and Flu capsules and drinking plenty. Managed to finish wrapping today and vacuumed around but couldn’t face preparing any food. Both daughters have arrived. Both daughters are now out and we’re left babysitting- fortunately all is quiet. I’m off to bed now and hope to get a good night sleep. Last night, OH woke up and said, Good Morning. I felt it was time to wake up. Looked at the clock. Twelve minutes passed one!!! Had had about 2 hours sleep!
LL, if it's gone to your chest and you are coughing 'lots of muck up'. Please get some outside advice. I'm not an advocate of antibiotics at the drop of a hat, but sometimes they are needed to stop it turning into something worse. Contact your surgery and ask to speak to a nurse practitioner or doctor. Please???

Thanks Trisha. You’re correct, I’ve not been to the doctor. I googled chest infections and am convinced I’ve got a virus and that it’s not bacterial so antibiotics will not help and I don’t want to add to them not working! I am still feeling off with a cold and horrid cough but I’m not bringing up as much phlegm now so that’s encouraging. Had a few days in bed. Family all left and I’ve been slowly getting through the washing! Hope you’re cough has gone Trisha and wishing you a happy and healthy 2019.
