I try and keep everything tidy in the garden, weeding and dead heading. I decided to hoe the borders this morning, all I could do was to chip away at the surface. The ground is solid. It has has loads of spent compost and wood ash and is better than it's ever been. I think that I am going to have to go through the smelly manure. Our daughter has loads of chicken poo etc that is a few years old, would that be ok?
Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.
Funny you mention chicken poo Trisha as where I live, locals have been complaining about a terrible smell and it turns out one of the farmers has been spreading it on the fields. So you might want to sniff before you spread. How about putting a mulch on so the weeds won’t show and it will keep the moisture in?
Gosh, my soil is like dry sand on top but moist and soft underneath. Love doing some gardening too but only in the dull weather. Perfect weather here today, dull and then torrential rain for a short while.
My friends, as I have discovered myself, there are no disasters, only opportunities. And, indeed, opportunities for fresh disasters.
You learn something new everyday! Thanks for the poo info Trisha.. We have had such a wet day and so heavy. Must have had 3 inches at least. At one point we had water on the path which looked like a stream!
