I am looking for different hobbies, I already have embroidery, classical soothing music, short walks (when I can) & reading. I just need something gentle. I've tried meditation in the past but there is too much going on in this brain of mine, I know the point is to 'empty' you mind, thoughts etc but I can't at the moment. Yesterday Gracie suggested both the meditation and yoga in my other thread but my body is a bit knackered etc which is why we do short walks.
"I am doing the best I can with what I have in this moment; and that is all I can expect of anyone including me"
Just trying to think of something soothing Linda, you already do embroidery, so how about making a lavender pillow, you could embroider some lavender sprigs on the cover, or a summer bouquet, just a thought
Our Carers society has regular tai chi classes and I love it. There's something very serene about the movements. They all have great names as well. Waving away clouds or repulse monkey.
This particular group is having to close due to lack of funding but I do know of a class. The man that takes it is the one that has come to our Carers group. He's amazingly calm and also flexible. He's also 82 years old.
He told us that some doctors prescribe Tai Chi for their older patients. It's very gentle but so good for your core strength and balance. It's a bit of a way away from me but I think I might start going.
