We have been getting some beautiful butterflies in the garden. Mostly of the buddleia bush.

That's beautiful Trisha, we have many in our garden too, keeping the cats busy
I took a photo of some dragonflies in my garden a few weeks ago. It's on my phone, I will upload it later
If you click on it, hopefully it will be bigger. 2 dragonflies mating on my bamboo, they nearly form a heart shape

I agree with that Linda, definitely more. Perhaps people are planting more and taking notice of creating a garden for the wild life
My OD has recently been approached by chanel 4 who are making a program about creating habitats in gardens, she's been asked to have a bee hotel in her garden and plant appropriate things. If enough people in her street get signed up, they will feature her street and you may get to see her on the tv

I saw on tv that there are many more butterflies this year migrating to our shores, apparently this happens about every ten years. I not blessed with many visits, buddlias just don't do well in our garden, we seem to get a lot of cabbage whites eating our lettuces though. Lovely photos Trisha and B B, lets hope your OD gets to star on the show

She may be a bit camera shy and push her fella to the front, we'll see
So maybe it's the 10 year visit then Jazzy. Shame Buddleia don't do well in your garden. Must confess our Buddleia has come through a crack in our garden wall from the lovely man next door, but it has really branched out in our garden, you'd think it was ours.

Buddleias grow too well where we are. Their leaves are poisonous to fish, so we have to keep them down. They do grow like weeds here.

I didn't know they were poisonous to fish 6herry. Only just seen your ladybird pic you posted, it's lovely

Lots of butterflies on our buddleia this year too. I’ve seen them growing like weeds along railways and on roof tops. What kind of soil do you have Jazzy?

Our soil is clay Gracie, you are right Buddlieas thrive in difficult situations and on neglect, probably part of the problem, I was looking after them.
