Sitting here with my morning coffee and reading this makes me crave an almond croissant to go with it. The perfect pairing. Actually any croissant would be lovely apart from the ones they put apple in.
Gracie, how lovely, a little baby boy. It must be very hard not to be able to hold it. Congratulations on being a granny again.
Thanks for all your kind words.
I must admit I'm being selfish. I hope he doesn't get the job. I'm proud of him for getting through. He was told there was a mix up with the results ( the first round was an online test) but he did very well. His girlfriend is starting work on Monday in Boston with a big pharmaceutical company on a high salary and a long complicated job title. She's no doubt a clever girl and a very hard worker. They are willing to sponsor her but apparently her name still has to go into the lottery each year. She also gets a second chance as there's a graduate lottery once a year. I'm not sure what the odds are but she gets 6 goes at it. I'm hoping she doesn't get in. I know that makes me selfish but I also know that hoping will in no way affect the outcome.
We have him for a couple more years but after that...who knows.
I do like to hear all your experiences of this sort of thing. It really helps.
It is basically the surplus that comes out of the large retailers. Waitrose, M&S, Tescos, Ocado etc. You have to be an employee or retired from the NHS, the fire service, or the police to get access. It saves us about 50% on our food bill and we eat better. Also as the food is cheap, you tend to take a chance on different stuff.
