So my brother is getting married in the Philippines next month yay! His fiancé and baby son live there for now but will move here when he’s bought a house and baby is old enough. Six of us are traveling for the wedding- my Dad is disappointed he can’t come as all 5 of us siblings will be together for a big family occasion, the first time he’s missed a wedding but at nearly 90 he’s just not up to it health wise. We’re going to video as much as possible for him, hopefully that will help. I’m traveling with my older sister who is a seasoned traveler which is great because I haven’t flown for many years and then only to Ireland or Portugal. It took me most of yesterday to book the flights and hotels, I was worried I get the dates wrong or something! Nervous ?oh yes! But excited at the same time 😳😬 Are you a seasoned traveler or like me, prefer to travel the UK?
Really exciting news Beckyboo and so lovely all you siblings can share such a lovely occasion Shame about your dad not being able to go but totally agree that at 90, the flight could be too much for his body to cope with. Technology has made all this better though hasn't it, in the fact he can still see what's going on. How about one of those vitrual headsets? he'd feel like he was actually there
I have flown quite a lot, some long hauls some not so far but not in recent years. It seemed harder when all the kids were at home because there was never enough money for holidays abroad so much and we often holidayed in this country. I think it's one of those things that when you take a break from doing it, you get nervous when a lot of time has lapsed in between. Am I right in thinking that a flight to the Philippines is a long haul and the plane should be quite a roomy one? I expect the time will pass quickly as you have all your family with you, probably have a great time all together
My friends, as I have discovered myself, there are no disasters, only opportunities. And, indeed, opportunities for fresh disasters.
