I've had a text from an old friend telling me about her daughter's 3A's. I'm pleased for her but she's been in private education since she started. I wonder if my sons' results would have been better in that case. I know I sound bitter here and I'm ashamed of myself for that.
i know there will be a lot of stuff in the news about how there are more A grades than ever and A levels are easier than they used to be but they're really not. The hard subjects are just as hard as they've always been. There's just a whole load of easier options now. When I was young there was no chance of doing an A level in Media Studies or photography for example.
I don't think they are easier at all. I was looking at my daughters Maths papers, you know the ones they give them from last years exams and I didn't even know what they were talking about, might as well been Chinese, which is fine for YD as that's what she is taking her degree in
Yes, YD had her A level results, 2 As and a C, think she must have fallen asleep on the last one not that it matters as she had an unconditional offer anyway. Not very nice really as other people would have had to sweat and stress over exams and she got a golden ticket. She will be off next month and I will cry and worry my heart out for her the whole time.... or should I just try and get on with my own life
