I don't shop at Morrisons 6herry, usually Tesco but picked up some apricots from Co-op because I was passing. They tasted of nothing , looked plump and rosy but it was as if someone had been and sucked all the flavour out of them Because you have written this, it has made me remember that I used to have the same problem with co-op fruit before we moved here. Tasteless fruit, Blueberries with no Blue, mealy apples and juiceless oranges
My friends, as I have discovered myself, there are no disasters, only opportunities. And, indeed, opportunities for fresh disasters.
I've been using quite a bit of frozen fruit. It doesn't have the bite and texture of fresh but its flavour is lovely. My favourites are the blueberries, raspberries and cherries. It's also great for cooking with.
6herry, I agree with you. I prefer to buy fruit and vegetables that are in season, I search out the ones with grown in the UK on the label. Last week we bought Victoria plums from our local market, they were delicious. We bought Victoria plums in Morrisons yesterday, ripe but tasteless! Back to the market on Saturday.
Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.
Nothing seems to taste of much these days - I buy plum tomatoes because the salad ones seem to taste of nothing and plums have a very odd texture - I read apples have been bred to have twice the fruit sugar content of the ones I ate as a child, what's that all about?
