I have just read that one of the councils in Wales have now introduced monthly rubbish collections. How on earth can this work, there will be mice and rat infestations and the smell during the warmer months will be horrendous. I wonder, was there any discussions with the council and the tax payers before this was implemented? Are any of you ladies who live in Wales affected?
3 weeks? We have collections every 2 weeks. One week it is the blue recycle bin and the other week its general household waste and green garden rubbish in Season. So far we haven't had to pay for the garden waste but that may change. A fee of £25 has been mentioned.
Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.
I believe this is happening in South Wales - lets hope ours doesn't change soon. They will still collect recycling weekly though, it's just the black bin that's 3/4 weekly. I am making a concerted effort to put as little as possible now in the black landfill bin. Every little helps I guess
We pay £30 a year to have a 'brown bin' for garden waste, which is collected fortnightly from March to November. Our food waste bin is collected weekly and alternative weeks our re-cycling and general rubbish bins are collected. I am keen on re-cycling and try not to throw away things that can be re-used etc, but my bins always seem to be full by the time they're collected. Monthly collections would be very challenging!
