excuse me..... I need to get up and put another blanket on my lap as it is so DAMN cold here in Seattle!!!
You too Anna, the wind chill is getting me down now, had some snow which has melted, but can't seem to get our house really cosy, seems like a very l......o.......n.........g winter this year, off to stoke up the wood burner
We got home after a good meal in San Francisco and a decent flight. Unfortunately we had six leaks and our shower pumps are damaged. No showers or baths at the moment. We have hot water in the sinks and can now wash clothes.
I have warned the guest coming that Steve will try to mend the pump but cannot promise a shower this evening. She can decide if she wants to come tonight or leave it until tomorrow. I need to clean the dirty residue off the floors and plasterboard dust and make the room for the guest then I am going to the gym. I can wash my hair there is the shower isn't working.
I am at Tamworth Litfest this evening talking on a romance panel. A good diversion after this house.
Oh dear that’s not a great homecoming! We too have had a burst pipe but fortunately it was for the hosepipe so nothing damaged. I saw something today say the flipping beast is coming back over Easter. Anyone else read or heard that?
Sorry to hear this Badpuss, you've had a few problems recently. The weather effects my OH too Linda, he was really miserable this morning before he left for work but I suppose he would be if he has to work in the rain all day rescuing people, who in his mind should have stayed at home
My friends, as I have discovered myself, there are no disasters, only opportunities. And, indeed, opportunities for fresh disasters.
Snow again at Easter - they do say you are more likely to have a white Easter than a white Christmas! It was lovely here on Sunday so I walked 9.6 miles, then mum fancied a drive out Monday and we had to turn back as roads were covered and we were driving into thick cloud. Sun is out now though (on the day I'm back to work) haha
Just mowed my little lawn today under momentary blue skies. Love the smell of fresh mown grass and my dogs obviously love the taste. The rains have flooded the fields once again and it is a case of taking the dogs for a swim rather than a walk. They love both.
