I’ve loved this wonderful weather but our garden is now showing big signs of suffering from water shortage. I am beginning to fear that we are going to lose quite a few shrubs and even a cherry blossom tree. How about you?

Everything is looking parched. The massive oak tree at the back of us has shed a lot of its leaves. my lawn is yellow! I have watered my fruit and veg that I'm growing, but even that doesn't look like it should. Raspberries coming through are very tiny, but sweet all the same. I hear we have thunderstorms forecast tomorrow so that will break all the delicate stems and I will lose a lot of stuff I've been trying to nurse through the drought. So frustrating. While we desperate;y need the rain, we need gentle rain not storm force!

Same here. We have quite a few plants in containers, now the waterbuts are empty. They will be ok for a few days, after that..... We been forecast showers today. Fingers crossed. I have just been listening to the weekend weather. It's going to be hot and sunny! I have quite a few water stations scattered around for the poor birds.

I have two trees in tubs waiting to be planted and they are watered every night. The rest are looking sad even when watered. My succulents on the gazebo are ok in the shade.

I love the smell of the rain when it's been dry for so long. I hope that we get some.

Oh my - are we having rain!! Thunder and lightning, and torrential downpour. I am dreading seeing the state of my veg, tomatoes and shrubs when I get home. I have nurtured those tomatoes and I fear the heavy rain with batter them to bits :-(

Absolutely bone dry here, lawn looks parched dry, and 10 silver birch trees leaves have turned crispy brown, also the beech hedge is turning brown, I am eating my words on another post "I love midsummer" I talk a load of rubbish sometimes

I'm not a lover of summer, I love the memories of summer from when I was little but as an adult I've always found it draining. My garden has been battling to get the better of me and like the rest of you I've had all sorts of things starting to look rather crispy. Been out every day for the past week, drenching my grass and soaking my bamboos, think I'm winning. I'd really appreciate some rain though. Sorry about your plants VW, can't you put them under some sort of cover?

Yellow grass here to but at least we don't need to cut it every 5 minutes now looking on the bright side. We are growing raspberries and although we have a lot of them and they taste lovely, a lot of them have a dry or damaged areas possibly caused by lack of water although I have tried to water them every other day at least. I have to remember to water the containers at the front with geraniums in though as it's something I forget regularly, I'm amazed they are still alive to be honest...
I'm not a fan of the very hot weather (no energy for work) but love crisp Autumn mornings the best!

Our grass has large yellow patches, but we are in for a bumper crop, and possibly more grapes than we have had before... Plus, I love summer, sunshine, and feeling warm........

We have had rain. Heavy torrential rain. Fortunately it's been at night. My water butts are full, even my new big one is halfway there. The only problem is the heat, it's overcast here today but it's still very warm. I would love a full night's sleep.

So you've had some rain have you Trisha? where's my share? .. my grass is going brown too and when you're on a water meter, you have to think twice about getting the hose out.
I don't mind warm and sunny 6herry but this is hot and sweaty and not a good look, not for me or the garden!

B, we have a water meter. It was here when we moved in. This is why I am getting extra water butts. We have two of the slim ones and one BIG one. I am thinking about getting another. Mains water is not good for watering the garden. Apart from anything else, it's expensive.
