Reading about how to have fresher, cleaner air in the house and see that it’s recommended that we wash new clothes before wearing. I did that with all my babies new clothes but never my own. My daughter told me when she had a baby that she’d been told it was no longer necessary but now I’m thinking maybe it is. Do you wash clothes/bedding/towels/anything before use? I also note the comment about dry cleaning. I’ve always kept clothes in the plastic wrapper after dry cleaning until ready to be worn. Not any more.

I don't think I have ever washed new clothes until worn.

That's a good reminder Gracie, thank you and some I had never thought of. We had a new mattress recently and I didn't even think to let it stand for a few days. I don't know if it needed to though as it was a tufted old fashioned style not a memory foam

We change our memory foam topper every few years, that has put us off buying a mattress with one built in. They do forget....

I always wash new clothes when they belong to our little granddaughter, not for me though. Regarding the mattress, I always vac it over every three months or so. I have just bought a new one so it should be ok for a while. Some years ago, people would come and sell vacuum cleaners at the door. One year, we had a demonstration! The stuff that came out of our mattress was interesting! No we didn't buy the vac, it was really expensive. I wish that I could recall the name of the vac! I still wouldn't buy one though.

I remember those, they were silver, and very old fashioned looking. I also can't remember the name.

6herry, Yes, that's the one! Clever girl. This chap also wanted to clean a small patch of carpet in the middle of the lounge floor! No, we had small children are knew what was going on with the carpet.

I think my sister had one - again the man came to the door - they are farmers and were sold on how well it cleaned I think despite the price. Probably still going now lol
