My garden has been strange this year, the roses have hardly bloomed, my geums haven't appeared at all. Runner beans have just struggled through even the courgettes haven't done much which is unusual. The strawberries have been better than normal. The only things that have flowered their socks off and are still producing lots of buds are the dahlias. They were hubs favourite flowers, he would have loved them.
That's a shame Trisha, we've had inconsistent weather in my neck of the woods, not sure how it's been for you. It's lovely that your hubs favourite dahlias were blooming so well. Perhaps he has been looking out for them
Some of my garden plants have also been prolific but my veg experiments have been a bit hit and miss. Sunflowers been a success, tomatos come too late so I don't think they'll be getting big and ripe before the cold weather hits. The snails ate my runner beans. I have a handful of broad beans though.
My rocket was successful but planted it all at once so it was all ready at the same time and I know you're not supposed to eat it in abundance because of the nitrates, so had to ditch some of them.
Always next year Trisha and I'm hoping to come for some crop growing tips from you and VW as we have struck a deal with a new house which has a decent garden.
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
