This is great news especially because you liked her straight away. It sounds like you have all sorts of plans for your time off. Now we just have to get rid of the COVID risk and we can all go back to doing what we want.
Morning ladies!!! I have had some good news. I am so chuffed. I get to have a new work colleague from September. She will be working three days a week and has years of experience in this trade. Met her on Monday and we got on straight away. So took the bull between the horns and asked my boss about reducing my hours. He has agreed, so as soon as she is settled I will be dropping my Fridays. Still have to work every other Saturday but it means a long weekend every other, and 4 whole days off a month!!! I can take mum out more, see friends for a cuppa and catch up, or a day out walking or exploring. It means such a lot, and if things work out as planned I hope to reduce by another day in the future. Little steps but they all help.......
VW, that's really good news. When you are working, you don't get enough time to do the things that you want to do. Will you still sell your campavan?
I think so Trish, as my OH will still work. It's too big for me to lug around on my own, and I am trying to simplify life a little. Looking forward to searching for a smaller day van that will be big enough for a night or two, but small enough to park anywhere lol
Morning all! Hectic weekend - worked on Saturday then rushed up to get my long awaited haircut!!!! I no longer feel like a tramp. (sorry to any tramps I may offend, but after 5 months without a cut or colour I looked like I had been dragged through a hedge backwards!) I also now know what my real colour is as all my highlights have been cut out - I've gone very short this time, just in case lol Sunday had a lovely long walk around my local country house grounds with a pal who also has a greyhound. The paths are wide enough for us to easily keep our 2 metres apart, and the dogs loved it. House is clean top to bottom, laundry done and another handbag made to order. Back to work today to a barrage of phone calls, as is usual for a Monday morning.... Hope you all have a good week x
Well, although I'm one of the newest members here I can tell you that I will always make a comment whenever I log in, and I have no intention of abandoning you without there being a very good reason (and I would say what that reason was anyway out of respect.)
I can chat quite a bit, usually, so I hope I don't go the other way and bore you all (too much)
It’s nice that you say that. We’ve had plenty of people who have joined and introduced themselves and then never been seen again. They have even said we’re too cliquey and maybe that’s true but we’re not a hard clique to join.
The people on this forum are real friends. Although we could walk past each other in the street and not know our friendship is genuine. A lot of us have been through troubled times and the support from this forum is something I certainly would not like to have been without.
