We’ve been in our house over 20 years and someone at the back of us has lived there just as long and is obsessed with fireworks. They’ve already started. They set off a load last night.
Personally I don’t really see the point of fireworks. They’re pretty colours but that’s about it. We’ve done the firework parties in the garden but that was when the boys were young. We’ve also been to big displays again when the boys were young but all I remember is that you get very muddy and being so shrimpy I don’t get to see much. Now I don’t think I’d even bother to open the curtains to see them.
We used to go to the organised displays when big 3 were little too Maggzz, which were fun at the time, but when YD was old enough to go, she hated it and has ever since. She hates the noises, always been sensitive to it.
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.

I like big firework displays land think they should be only alllowed by authorised users. Seem to remember a big firework factory exploding not so long ago. When I was young I propped my bike outside the local newsagents and could see boys messing about outside while I was paying. The little blighters had put a banger in the saddle bag at the back. I’d checked before cycling home and was able to pull it out as I had a plastic Mac in there. Lots of posts on social media at the moment about fireworks. One about a horse dying from fright and another about a cat! Very sad!
