The glass is stunning BB, to see the real thing with light surrounding it must be awesome.
Your art collection is priceless Jax, it has been gathered as a result of special moments and special people. Have a go at abstract, definitely give it a go, you may well surprise yourself .

Definitely give it a go Jax,
It's a funny thing, I don't have an idea in my head when I paint, it kind of comes together, the layers change over the course of a week until I "feel" it's finished. My mum and brother actually laughed when I took some to show them but I didn't take offense, they are both classic artists and just didn't get it, but it has now grown on them

I am not up on art at all I'm afraid, so feel a little out of my depth. I have two small paintings that I love done by a friend. A few framed photos I have taken that I am really pleased with, and a gallery of pictures that have special meaning to me.

Not at all VW, I'm not up on art myself, I only know about the artists that I'm fond of. It's nice to google the works that others have mentioned on here, it means I learn something new My OH took YD to several trips to the Tate modern when she was younger and I've taken her to some exhibitions too, so we are still learning.
Love photographic art VW, what have you taken that you are particularly fond of?

You have always been classy ladies to me and this is more proof in a classy artsy way .I like impressionist art and even modern art paintings if they are brite . My only art work is 3 photos of the Louisville Kentucky docks circa 1910.

I too like photographic art, we have a few mixed in with our watercolours.
I follow Charlie Macksey, he posts on Instagram, his art is so sweet and he often leaves heartwarming words š„°

Awww, Jazzy, they really are sweet "what do you want to be when you grow up?" "Kind", said the boy. Lovely style of drawing, reminds me of the winnie the pooh art work.
Just looked some up Moi, lovely old steamboats.

Love photographic art VW, what have you taken that you are particularly fond of? A few shots of rough seas in South Africa when I visited, an old vintage bike leaned on a wall in Cyprus, arty shot of a Bassett, a sepia print of the little train station in my old home village.....

Would you say we all have very diverse tastes? Iām looking at pictures on my kitchen wall. A prawn, a lobster and a crab. Water colour prints all in blue.

I think this thread has shown that 'art' is different for all of us, it's very personal what you like/don't like and that value (as in how much it cost) is irrelevant, which shows how unique we all are

That's so true Jax, if you love it it's priceless.
Your photos sound like "you" VW, things you love and have loved, in places you've been too
