I know that I have mentioned English apples before, it must have been on the old site. Supermarkets still struggle supplying English apples. Last Saturday, I called into the small veg shop in town. Bags of fresh mixed veg, all English. And ......... English apples!!!!! Boxes of eight, beautiful crimson red Cox apples, also yummy felt skinned Russet apples. Dilemma! Cox or russet? The staff holder laughed saying that he could see my dilemma! Result? He put a mixed box together. One happy me. When I was small, dad always said that if a Cox apple was ripe it would rattle. My apples rattle! They are so delicious that its unbelievable . A round of applause for the small shopkeepers.
Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.
On the drive to a kitchen measure yesterday someone on the radio said about shaking apples to tell if they were ripe - from the rattle of the pips! Not heard it before and now twice in 2 days - spooky!
