I like the dress and would wear ankle boots and a bright scarf at the neck to distract the eye if you worry about your weight. You will look great. Badpuss
I am going to put my artwork on business cards to promote my books and art.
Does anyone use a reputable printing company for their business cards. Our local company is not wonderful and very expensive. I am a bit reluctant to use on-line companies for the things that might need changes.
I find it very relaxing but I cannot stop for hours when I start. I am illustrating some stories I have written and it is hard work getting things suitable for book form.
I like that artist very much. Her drawings and paintings look simple but those techniques are hard to apply and get good results. She is very good.
We go for a long walk and drink if we can a find that serves drinks instead of a big meal and then come back and cook the dinner for about 7 o'clock. My Husband is not bothered about presents and we often open them then.
Does anyone go out for dinner. A lot of people do around here which is why few pubs will just let you have a drink now.
I think walking to school and less time on the computers at home. Some five year old buys prefer to stay on the computer than go and play on their bikes with their friends. More girls are becoming like this as well.
Need a change of diet too. Some kids never eat fish or veg.
A lot of young women do little exercise and combined with poor diet the kids are not getting good examples. Many of the Mums I see around here are heavily overweight unless they go to one of the fashionable gyms with their friends. Badpuss2
There is now a strong possibility that the FBI will ask for Hilary to be prosecuted for the email contraventions of the law. Trump may be prosecuted for tax fraud. Interesting if both could be asked to be removed as unfit for office.
The historian Simon Schama told a friend of mine yesterday that his son is in the inner circle of Hilary's campaign workers and they think she will lose. Obaham is trying to raise the black vote. She is desperately trying to win those states which have the largest no of votes but she thinks she is not gaining enough votes there.
I read the views of nine women who were considering voting for Trump. Most were religious. One thought Americans should isolate themselves and not intervene in countries like Aghanistan.
The rest were predominantly stating they could not tolerate Clinton's stance on abortion. One said she did not respect women if she did not respect herself and tolerated her Husbands adultery. They all seemed to think Trump was just like other men and sexual harassment was to be ignored instead of stamped out.
I also think in England there was an anti-establishment vote by blue collar workers voting on Referendum day. Trump is like Farage, playing the same game, trying to persuade workers that reducing immigration will raise wages and reduce unemployment. He also is playing on the fears about ISIS by blaming Muslims for terrorism.
This is a fascinating discussion. Agree that the newer EU countries should not have entered because they are too diverse from the major contributors and countries like Greece were seduced by grants etc into entering when the Euro would cripple them.
I work with Muslims and most do integrate but others in Birmingham live in their own areas and are being politicised and radicalised which is dangerous and also discriminatory as work is only given to Muslim families. Some women are being intimidated and in some areas of Birmingham the Hijab is worn in the streets and English isn't spoken by the locals. It damages the kid's opportunities if they do not speak English at home. Many go to school and have limited vocabulary and need extra help at school.
I think if England leaves the EU Scotland will leave the UK. I also think there will be many countries whose people will push for a referendum and may cause the break up of the EU. I don't think the Marine Le Pen would be good for France Shaliby. I think France is reacting out of fear at the moment and this is creating more hostility between the ethnic groups and authority which is very dangerous.
British firms are also saying that EU bureaucracy and laws stifle creativity and initiative but some laws have protected workers and shareholders from abuse by bad employers. What irritates me is the lack of accountability by the Commission to the Parliament- totally undemocratic and the Commission needs shaking up and its wings clipped.
Given that both these countries fought on the same side and were not adversaries I think this shows solidarity amongst nations. It might be perceived differently if it were Englandv Germany, ie we rubbing it in we won the 2nd World War. The whole concept of Poppy day is to show respect for any soldier from any country. FIFA need to get their own house in order before trying to become politically correct ie make footballers show respect for women in public and in the media. Badpuss2.
I think if the PM cannot push it through Parliament she might call an early election claiming a manadate to push it through although some people will have changed their mind due to the exchange rate situation etc. She will appeal first but she has a high standing in the polls and may risk an election if she thinks she can win. A very determined and acute lady.Badpuss2.
Didn't know where to post this as I only have access to some threads and it was discussed in this section.
The High Court have just ruled that Article 50 triggering Brexit can only be authorised after a vote in Parliament. The PM thought she had a mandate to take us out and could authorise it. More delays can be damaging again to our economy. My Husband works for Aston Martin and they gain from the pound falling as they export a lot but are very unhappy as they don't know what is going to happen if they sell in the EU in the future and got a large grant from the EU to set up in Wales
