Its been an absolute age since I visited, but this week is somewhat quieter than the past 9 months, so thought I would try and catch up with everyone. In the process of having so much to read I have gone and burnt my onions for the caramalised onion tart I was making for dinner tonight
It is absolutely bucketing it down today. The first day I have made a fire in the kitchen/diner with laundry on an airer. All the table lamps are on as it is so grey and dreary, real autumnal day. Loving it actually.
Hope everyone is doing okay and I will continue to catch up, once I have sorted out my burnt offerings
Hello SD. Sorry about your onions - very very caramelised! But it did make my mouth water thinking about the tarts. :-) Weather turning nasty again here - much rain and gales on the way for Saturday. Time to batten down the hatches, light the fire and snuggle down with a good book, good wine and good company! Good to hear from you again h x
Sadly Trisha my cremated offerings could not be salvaged and I had to start again. Although the finished tart now smells delicious and I am just waiting for the tribe to return to devour. Have even produced a good old fashioned Banoffee pie with the sorry looking bananas to finish.
It is still raining VW. A G&T is my tipple, just waiting for the company.
Lovely to see you SD, love caramelized onions too, never had them as a tart though, sounds nice.
Fire lit, washing on the airer, raining, sounds, good to me I'm sure VW could whip you up a great snuggle blanket in no time too. Have you seen what she has made!
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.

Haha I have several already finished and enough yarn to make a dozen more!!
Agh, thanks girls, three days on and it is still bucketing and the wind is whooping which puts me in mind of that rhyme - ohh the North wind doth blow, and we shall have snow, and what will poor Robin do then, poor thing! because it feels like one of those days - baattening down for a second day.
I am dead jealous B of VW's handycraft work, even spotted some stripey wool in our local pharmacy yesterday with a free pattern supplied for snazzy socks !

Myself, haven't been too regular here, lots of mishaps (death of my Mum, 4 burglaries within 6 months -3 in her home, one in mine a month ago)...
I'll be back soon !
Oh Shaliby - it sounds like you have had an awful time recently! So sorry to hear about your mum passing away. Big hugs to you and all our thoughts are with you I'm sure xx
