Well we've just shelled out £70 for 6 new wiper blades after all 3 wipers on both our cars were eaten by crows. It's only a couple of weeks since OH had to have new front ones for the same reason.
I've covered them with bin bags but in this weather they could easily blow off although I have tried to secure them. Also crows are known to be quite intelligent and once they know there's something there a bin bag won't stop them.
I posted about this in our villages Facebook page and got 48 comments from people living roundabout here all saying they had the same thing happen to them.
Here’s another idea. Buy some of that pipe covering tubing stuff from a DIY and cut it down one side and the length of your wiper. Then put on your wipers when you’re home. How about getting some balloons and attaching them to the wipers?
We do have car covers from when they started scratching the car. The problem is getting it on and off. Hubs is unable to help and being under five foot tall makes it impossible for me. It's a good thing to do if the car's not going to be used for some time but I'm always popping in and out in mine.
My boys can do it in the evening but it's daytime when the crows attack.
I don't think there's a Homebase near here. I'll google and see. I can always phone them to see if they've got any.
