How many people will rush to get inside on Saturday? I know that lots of landlords have said that they won't be opening, micropubs can't open because they don't have the space. Some are doing a trial, if customers won't agree to the social distancing then they will close. Some are putting chairs and tables outside on the pavement. I have heard that all police leave has been cancelled for the weekend. I don't drink, so I won't be queuing up for a pint. It's a bit bonkers.
Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.
Not for me, I have a nice selection of wine in my fridge which I can indulge in if the mood takes me
But .... I do have an appointment at the hairdresser on 14th .... strict rules though, you have to wear a mask, stand outside the salon until you are called in, no magazines, no tea/coffee and you have to take your own pen.
Here in wales, we are still a little behind. I have pre-booked my haircut for when they are open but still can't get in until the end of the month. I look like a scarecrow! I wasn't much of a pub goer before so certainly won't be rushing to go in the future. I do miss the odd meal out, but things will improve I'm sure. Missing going off in the campervan though and dreading when we can after next Monday (when Wales travel restrictions are lifted) Everywhere will be so packed. I may be heading into the back of beyond instead.
Saw the papers this morning with the photos of drunken Brits in the streets last night, some collapsed in heaps with their skirts round their waists, having to call the emergency services, punch ups and bar brawls! people peeing in the streets, Looks like the Great British public have returned to normal, how lovely, not at all embarrassing Taxi !
My friends, as I have discovered myself, there are no disasters, only opportunities. And, indeed, opportunities for fresh disasters.
I think they must be crazy. I’m not going anywhere for the time being. I was going to take a walk to the shops today but after thinking about it I think I’ll give it a miss. I have no veg left and I wanted to make soup but I think I’ll just have something else.
I have a click and collect tomorrow night so I’ll just add some stuff to that.
People are acting like the lockdown is over and normality has resumed but I have reservations. I think in a couple of weeks there will be a lot of people regretting that visit to the pub. I may be wrong, who knows but I’d rather wait safely at home and see. It’s been so long another two weeks won’t hurt me. I’d rather be bored at home missing my friends than risk putting hubs in danger.
I always think about putting hubs in danger but the stats for people with diabetes are quite frightening.
