Well, after much soul searching and talking with OH, I have decided to sell my Motorhome. Sad decision but necessary. Before Covid, I had hoped to go part time and get out in it more, but it looks like that won't be happening. Work will not let me go part time, and my town has lost some major employers - with all the folks that have been made redundant there just are no jobs - full or part time available. I can't let it sit on the drive and in time it will deteriorate. I work a 5 and a half day week, so its a big thing to lug off for just the odd night here and there. I am going to sell my car also, and get a small van - like a modern version of the little VW I had before. I can use it daily and it will be so much easier for me to drive. Now that I have been told my collarbone will have to stay as it is, I couldn't use the right hand sided handbrake on the big van. Sad day, but I am quite excited by the thought of finding a new little van. Now for the horrible bit - dealing with time wasters and tyre kickers lol - wish me luck!
I'm sorry that you are selling your motor home. Having read your post, I totally understand the logic behind your decision. It's such a shame that you can't reduce your hours. I hope that you manage to get a quick sale, don't let the wheel kickers try and reduce your price. I hope that you find a lovely van. X
Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.
Sometimes you just have to start a new chapter and although sad in a way, new chapters usually bring more surprises.
I understand your frustration, 5 1/2 days is quite a lot really by todays standards. Could they not think about 2 part timers at your place of work. So many people want part time work. But I guess if work is in short supply where you are, maybe rocking the boat isn't the best thing
A modern version of the VW you used to have? sounds interesting, have you got a link or picture?
Hopefully you'll get decent money for the van and the car. Everyone will want to try and get money off your price, it feels like a small victory if they think they've negotiated down. So put it up for more than you want in the first place
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
You shouldn't have any problem selling it I wouldn't think, motorhomes are in great demand ... we'd love one, but not enough room to keep on our drive and it's hard to find safe storage. Those smaller panel vans are good too, hope you find something you like.
I hope that you sell without too much trouble VW, ours sold fairly easily, people are weird though, one caller asked me if it was still up for sale ‘ no, it’s sold now ‘ I replied, he then asked me how much it was sold for, how unbelievable, my reply is not printable, I think you can guess.
Well I have two people coming to view. One from Telford coming Tuesday night, and the other is driving up all the way from Cornwall tomorrow!! What a way to come, especially in this traffic and heat lol
