There are so many people who just don’t care. This sort of thing is heartbreaking.

Because some people just don't give a damn, have no respect, are selfish and no there are rarely consequences for their actions sadly. we used to have over 30 police at our station, now it is only open in an emergency, no permanent staff there, and despite the extortionate amount we pay to the police in our council tax, rarely see them. Worrying how things are rapidly going downhill....

Hubby reckons angry, bored youths and do it just for fun, just for the sake of it.

That's unforgivable, it's such a wonderful old tree. I recall, quite a few years ago, having my photo taken standing inside it The problem is, there is no deterrent for the vandals. If someone is found, all they will get is a mild telling off.

Vandals have also set fire to a building on the Severn Valley railway this weekend, plus our local bird hides on the nature reserve have succumbed to vandalism just days after they were rebuilt from the previous spate of it. If you say anything, people stick up for the kids saying they are just bored and there's nothing for them to do!! That riles me as we grew up with very little, no computers just our bikes to play out with, yet had loads of fun and never wrecked anything.

Any destruction of the environment is sickening to me too.
I love nature, which is the main reason we came to live in the New Forest.
Wanton vandalism is completely reprehensible. The people who do these things are really sick in their minds. They have a complete lack of respect for the environment they are in and for whatever twisted reason they use to justify their actions, there simply is no excuse.
They deserve the full force of what the law can give them, but sadly they never get caught. Or if they do, then the penalty is so ridiculous as to be a waste of time and taxpayers money.

I have a very strong hatred of litter. I would never just throw something on the ground and I can’t understand the mentality of people who think it’s ok. Once I saw a chocolate wrapper just chucked out of the window of a parked car so naturally I picked it up and threw it back in. It was an older man and he just glared at me and chucked it back out. I don’t get why he thought he was right.
Vandalism does seem to be a feature of modern life. Where I am they’re fitting defibrillators in every village centre. The one where we live is ok but in the next village it was destroyed as soon as it was put up.
Near where my dad lives they’ve put the defibrillators into old phone boxes and painted them yellow. I think that’s a great idea. I’ve been shown how they work and it’s very simple. There’s instructions next to them so anyone can use them. It could really save lives.

Oh come on VW, you’re just showing off with those two names, envy Wales having Bethlehem though, but you can keep the other one, which I bet you can say easy peasy 🤣 Anyway, over here we’ve got Cold Christmas, a village in Hertfordshire 😀 Is there a place called ‘Soggy Bottom’ if so, chances are Paul Hollywood lives there?

Wish we had audio on here VW, would love to hear you say that
and at Moi, yes a real Sherwood forest. They say that Robin hood was a fictional character but taken from events at the time a "Hud or hod" was another name for a criminal and it is thought that Robin was taken from the word robbing, so a robbing criminal, which there were many of seeking refuge in the forest as they didn't agree with what Prince John was doing regarding the land at the time. I thought Kevin Costner was a great Robin Hood, but I was a bit younger then and really wanted to be his Maid Marion
