Oh my - Monday night was quite a spectacular event. We had thunder and lightning from early evening, but about 8pm onwards it all got very spooky. We stood out in the dark in the garden, and had 2 hours of constant flash lightning, but absolute silence with it. No thunder, no birds, just the sound of my garden pond. I've never experienced anything like it. Very other worldly. No rain with us, but half a mile away they had hours of torrential rain! More thunder and lightning last night but it was further away in Shropshire. Tonight we are due another terrific storm, so I hope to get some better pictures and videos as will be prepared! I will be glad when it cools down a bit - stifling hot here and a nightmare trying to get sleep - I am so disturbed that last night I had a dream that I had an affair with Jeremy Clarkson and we sped off on a motorbike together!!!!!
I missed to take photos last night - we were in the middle of cleaning out the pond when the storm came. We carried on in the rain as it was so refreshing. Daft really as big trees all around us. But we survived haha.
It rumbled around again for hours, some great lightning. Very heavy rain so won't need to water tonight - more on the way I think.
Quite a downfall here this morning, lots of lightning and very loud thunder, more in the forecast for the next few days as well, at least I can have a rest from watering the terrace pots and allotment.
No, thunder or lightening here. We used to love standing in the garden watching the lightening. Today has been misty and drizzly. It's chilly as well. The fog horn has been going for over 24 hours now.

We had several nights of weird storms last week. Probably the same ones as you VW as we are in Cheshire, not too far away. I think it was Wednesday that it started to thunder before 6pm and then it went on non stop. By 8pm we just couldn't believe it was still thundering and of course because it was daylight there was no great flashes of lightening. About 7-8 the sky turned this yellowy orange which appeared on IG the next day. I tried to photograph it but the colours didn't show on my iPhone. It was stunning. One good thing is that it seems to rain in the night and the days have been dry.
