Who had these macrame plant hangers back in the 1970's?? Come on own up lol. I was asked to make one for a friend, so made loads in different colours as they seem to be making a bit of a come back. Sold several - again to raise funds for GRW. Nice change from handbags and storage baskets!!

It's funny how things come back round again - I tend to find I shy away from trends which were big when I was young, in my mind they're more 'old-fashioned' than 'retro' .... I've noticed a few tv programmes set in 60s/70s/80s when I've recognised a tea-pot or other household item as being the same as something we had when I was a kid, there must be a huge props warehouse somewhere with stuff from days gone by.

I remember having a few with spider plants in! My 12 year old granddaughter said yesterday that she wants to learn so she can give them as gifts 😀

They are really lovely VW, they look very robust, well done. Super talented lady Your grandaughter is very creative Beckyboo, she made that lovely skirt, you must have inspired her.
I was a kid in the 70's and remember them. I do now have one myself with, you've guessed it a spider plant in. They suit a macrame hanger well because of the babies that come from the mother plant.
Shame you didn't have a taste of the 70's Vanessa, good times to grow up.

No never had one but certainly remember them. VW have you ever thought about setting up a shop - and doing workshops for people like me who are useless?

I wish I could do more of it but couldn’t afford to give up work. Maybe when I reduce my hours. Be happy to help x

I don't know about the 70s, but if time travel was possible I think I would like to visit the Victorian period. I wouldn't mind trying those wonderful dresses and hats and riding around in a Hansom Cab. One thing I would do first though is travel back in modern day underwear. I wouldn't fancy being trussed up in those corsets.

Sorry, not totally thread related but going to view a 70s house tomorrow, complete with reeded glass hallway panels and wood paneled walls. Time has stood still in there! it would look good with a spruce up and plenty of your macrame hangers VW, watch out you could get a big order from me if we can afford to buy the place

Spotted one last night hanging in a barge in London on a Gardeners World episode which we were watching belatedly.
