Talking of Christmas ... I just booked our works’ Christmas do night. Three kitchens are getting together and I’m sorting it all out. Our first choice was already fully booked and that was the middle of August!!

They seem to get on fine. They always have. My MIL phones my dad two or three times a week. FIL is losing the plot a bit now and doesn’t really have much conversation so they both get a nice chat out of it. My dad is from Manchester as well and they were brought up fairly close to each other so it gives them plenty to reminisce about. That's really good to hear Mags and so nice of your MIL to do that So if you get well organised this year with the in-laws, your Christmas could possibly be a bit calm and cozier this year?
That sounds like it will be a good bash PM and agree the food will be good

I have no idea if we'll all be in lockdown as Christmas approaches or even if we would have been able to move house by then (date at the mo is Dec 2nd for moving) but, I was wondering if all are up for it, if we could all take a photo of our Christmas trees, come the time
The house we are moving to is a 50s/60s one, so think I will do a tree to give a nod to the era

I’ve heard that BoJo has said they’re going to relax the rules for one day only..Christmas day.
That would suit me just fine. I’m sure I could persuade OS to go and get his grandad and take him home again. That amounts to about 3 hours of driving but he’s so sweet he’d do it.
I’d still have to do the big table and turkey with all the trimmings but it would just be one day. I could cope with that.
My tree is just a mosh mash of ornaments I’ve picked up over the years. Stuff the boys made when they were little and various toys on strings. It’s not a bit classy and I love it. Last year I bought a new tree. It was one of those with artificial snow on it. It was everywhere. I still love it.

I would love to see your "vintage" decorations Mags when they are on the tree, I bet that is quite something...years of family history.
Thumbs up for you 1 day of Christmas, that would be ok, wouldn't it

Bellatrix I think that’s a great idea. We will make a new thread nearer the time and share Christmas tree pics x
