There are lots of home experts saying that cosy throws are essential for the winter. It might seem like a silly question, but what do you do with them? Do you wrap yourself up in them or use them like a blanket! I have a heated one that I bought for hubs, but I don't use that any more.
Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.
I have lots of throws, I love 'em. I have some on the sofa permanently to sit on, and others to snuggle under (like a blanket) when I'm watching tv or reading. Earlier in the year I knitted a lovely one using chunky merino wool, unfortunately every time I use it I seem to get sheds of wool up my nose, so that's now decorative only but looks nice in a basket in the lounge.
I love my throws too and I have quite a few of them. I also have a pillow on the sofa when it’s just the two of us. However I tend to always lie on the same side and I’m convinced that the side of my face that I tend to lie on is wrinklier than the other. I’m going to get myself a silk pillowcase for the one on the sofa because I’m told it helps.
Am I the only one that likes to lie on the sofa in the evening rather than sit.
Beckyboo, is that made of little crocheted squares sewn together? It’s really lovely. Did you do it all yourself?
Yes it is Maggzzz, I learnt as a child but then forgot so I looked on YouTube and joined a fb group. It’s quite ‘puffy’ I suspect I’ve done something wrong - it’s very heavy because I used chunky wool and a smallish hook. I’ve just finished a border of white and will finish it off with dark grey. I’m going to have a go at making animals next 🦓🐆🐘 😃
It looks very inviting Beckyboo, well done. Envious of all you talented girls!
I like to have a throw in the winter as I don't like the house overly hot and tend to turn the heating off about 7pm. OH is a sofa layer Mags, I like to sit and put my feet up on the pouffe/foot rest thing, because we got slimline sofas earlier this year, look great but damned uncomfortable, there not snuggle into sofas, more like sit politely sofas
I do like to snuggle, very hygge around here with the warm drinks, throws, candles, soft piano music and a book or a good soothing tv show.
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
I love a throw - I am making a super thick mustard coloured one for my bed at the mo. Have made several this last year for people. Some for beds, some just to drape over the back of the sofa, to pull over you when chilly, or needing a snuggle.
