I should have shopped for food before this morning, but I kept putting it off and off.
It felt a little like the run up to Christmas in the town today. I did a Sainsbury's shop of which for some reason my glasses steamed up more than normal. Then I went to a local small DIY for paint. Clearly most people had the same idea in mind! Couldn't wait to get home.

You’ve reminded me to get another supermarket delivery booked. If I book a week in advance then I can keep adding things to it. Plenty of time to get stuck in with your paintbrush Sunny. How about a before and after photo?
Beginning to struggle with what day is it . I actually think that you do get slightly instatutionalised. The less you go out, the less inclined you want to. The supermarkets and our local Co-Op store are still open, but as I'm sure you've heard on the news - non-essential ?? shops are closed. Hairdressers etc.... All I know is that the numbers are still rising ! Everywhere, no matter what restrictions they seem to be putting in.
The menfolk in this house are still working, so their life hasn't really altered and in truth, nor has mine. I was never a big shopper it is only social gatherings that I miss.
I have a bargain piece of furniture that I bought from our local refuse shop. I will do a before and after LL when I do that.
I think that's a good point SD. The less you go out, the less you want to. All the fun and spontaneity has gone from shopping. It's more like get in and out as quick as you can and trying not to go near anyone else while doing it. Even though we are not in a lockdown situation (yet) in this area. I am less inclined to go anywhere that isn't necessary.
It's good to know that even though the country has been in this situation since feb/march the ship is still afloat and we'll see land soon i'm sure.
Keep safe and would love to see a before and after
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
I hate food shopping so much I’ve been doing online for years now. I’ve always been able to get a next day delivery before this but now I’ve finally got my act together and I keep an eye on the site daily and I have a home delivery slot booked now for the next four weeks. As soon as they’re released I just put a few things on it and then finalise it to save the slot. Then when it gets near the day I change it to a proper shop.
I really hate trailing round big supermarkets. Always have.
I don't think that it be long before we go into another lockdown. I think that we have to accept that this is our new normal. It's a sobering thought. I really struggle with the date, this year seems to have flown by. I don't really buy enough to warrant a weekly internet shop, I'm down to monthly. I buy fresh things when I need to.
Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.
I think you’re probably right about another big lockdown. I just wonder what’s going to happen at Christmas. If they tell everyone to stay at home I wonder what percentage of the population will actually stick to it.
The tiered approach doesn't seem to be working, so something more drastic appears to be needed - I just don't understand why they decided not to have the 'circuit-breaker' 2 weeks over half term which they originally said they were considering, then potentially start a full blown lockdown next week (which would have been week 2 of the circuit breaker) .... typically I have a hair appointment for Weds, not that it matters in the overall scheme of things, but if lockdown starts before then I may need to wear a hat until it's over

This morning I booked a Morrisons delivery, there were slots tomorrow then nothing till next Saturday! I think they are preparing to just release slots on a three day basis like it was during the last lockdown. I also booked hair appointments for us both on Wednesday thinking it might be our last opportunity for a while. Boris speaking to us at 5pm I’m told. That doesn’t bode well.
Boris must be watching the rugby I think .... as he was due to address the nation at 4pm, then 5pm, now just "some time this evening" - let's hope he's not a fan of Strictly! The news keeps showing a picture of the front door at No10, I would love to see a dressed up child go and knock on it!
