The weather forecast last night said we’d have a frost today. Well we didn’t but it was down about 4C. I’d booked hair cuts for both him in doors and myself at the Trafford Centre so off we set. Before getting in the car I’d put my facemask on to make sure I had it with me. He asked me why I had it on so I whipped it off laughing, only to realise that it was lovely and warm with it on and now my face was chilly. Definitely a positive there. Like wrapping a scarf around my face.
Never thought I'd say I like wearing my face mask but I actually don't mind at all, it's just the shops I get a bit hot in with them on, but they definitely keep the chill out. OH and I went for our walk around the marshes and it was quite a cutting wind, which would normally have resulted in me getting a pair of very sore lips but my mask protected them
When it all first started SD, before everyone started wearing masks, I actually used a scarf to cover my face in the stores, I would happily do that instead of a mask if it was allowed, but don't know if it's mandatory for a mask or a covering.
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
I like the anonymity it gives you. Also I don’t have to wear any make up.
Typically though today I walked into the village to go to the butchers and realised I’d forgotten my mask. I zipped my coat right up and stuck my face in it and he let me in.
However I do find them a bit claustrophobic. I don’t think I could go anywhere I couldn’t see the door. I find the Trafford Centre a bit overwhelming anyway although I do like the occasional trip there with a friend. My favourite shop is Kiku the make up shop. I can’t go to the Trafford centre without coming out if there with a couple of nail varnishes or a lippie.
Every year for about 5 years now the boys have taken me there for my Christmas present. We all go to the imax cinema to see the latest Star Wars and then they take me for a meal. Hubs doesn’t come as he hates Sci-fi. Most people seem to. If it wasn’t for them I’d have nobody to go with. We wouldn’t be able to go this year and there’s no new film anyway.
