I’m sad that this year I haven’t bought a physical poppy as I’ve not been anywhere recently where they were on sale. I’ve got a Morrison’s delivery arriving tomorrow and noticed that they had the opportunity to make a donation so I did. I had a great uncle who was killed in WW1 in August 1918 and I feel it my duty to keep remembering him for all my ancestors who mourned him. He was only 19 years of age.

One year, a very long time ago, back in the early 70s, our school asked for volunteers to sell poppies on a Saturday. My best friend and I volunteered. I have no recollection of how we did in St. Annes Square but very happy to know that we did do something as teenagers that that made our parents were proud.
Have donated too on their website. I had an uncle who was killed in WWII. I have pictures of him in his uniform standing on the gang plank of the ship that sent him to war. It was touching to hear the stories of those on TV this morning and watch the event.
