We usually put a few strings of lights up at Christmas but this year we’re adding more because I think it will be cheery for us and those passing by our house. The village is having a communal switch on, this weekend so I’m hoping others do the same. Watch out Blackpool Illuminations! Have you got plans for your house/garden?
My OH has made some wooden Christmas trees out of an old pallet that he rescued from a skip, I have to paint them tomorrow then one will get some lights on it and the other left plain and they'll be out the front of the house with some huge Christmas wreaths we made last year which will also have lights on, and the icicle lights hanging from the gutters on the roof (although I'm always scared OH will fall off the ladder when he puts those up - they're much easier to get down than put up!).
I'm a terrible person over this, but as you all know me, hoping you'll forgive I don't like lights all over houses, around the porch/front door is enough for my eyes and the tree standing in front of a window with lights on. Hugest bug bear is flashing ones that give me a migraine
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
I love to see Christmas lights, but not the flashing ones. I have a rope light bauble that hangs in the gap between my two front windows, I also have a strings of lights on the front fences. I have lights of the back garden as well.
