^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Thanks A nice holiday , not hyper like the holiday season we are now entering . You give thanks for what you have in life , an Uncle like man to me long ago said that while nobody's life is perfect be happy for what you have whether it is a job , family , car , home and if that doesn't shake you up think of what life wud be if you didn't have that .Made lots of sense to me A big turkey dinner with parades in the morning ( not many this years because of corona ) for the men college football games after Most turkeys start at 22 pounds and unless you have many guests over chances are you will be eating turkey for the rest of the week . They tell you this holiday began 00's of years ago when the Indians invited the Pilgrims to a feast which is true but the current holiday only got going in 1864 when President Lincoln told everyone to thank the Heavens the Union was at last winning the civil war that ended in 1865. This year about 15 of us got together at a small family run restaurant that always has a dinner . No turkey this year since they couldn't get any but instead ham with pineapple slices that gave it more flavor .They did have other traditional Thanksgiving foods such as stuffing , cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie . Will write more about it in my Life in Asian thread .Lots of alcohol .
