I haven't really been driving very far recently.
When I start my car i I have noticed a red battery sign on the dashboard.
Do I need to get a new battery or just a charger? if it's that I need to get a charger, any ideas which one to get? I don't have a clue where cars are concerned.
I have just renewed my insurance and I'm not certain that I have breakdown cover. I must check.

It could be the battery is deteriorating. The cold weather doesn't help either. Take it for a good run when you can, without all the lights and heater etc on as they drain it. It may be getting to the end of its life and ready for a new one. Don't want it to let you down when you need it. Your local ATS or tyre depot should be able to advise

Along with the battery symbol, I had the car bleeping with a red exclamation sign saying to check the tyres! This threw me off my already fragile axis. It's so hard to do everything on your own.
I called my local garage first thing this morning and explained everything. He told me to take it down as soon as i wanted. It took me less than 10 minutes.
He checked everything for me, put air in the tyres and gave me the keys. There you go love, not a problem. Your battery is 70% it just give your car a good run.
I thought that he would think that I was a silly woman, he said no problem it was just something and nothing. He didn't charge.
I booked my car in for a service.

So glad you got it checked and sounds like he was a nice guy. I know absolutely nothing about cars, it's always worrying when a light comes up which you aren't expecting.
