I was listening to the radio this morning, the presenter was raving about...... Mince and onions on toast! I can eat mince in a bolgnaise sauce and that's about it. Does anyone else have anything (food related) that just makes you go noooooo!

I will try virtually anything once but frogs legs turn my stomach! When I was a young teen, I went to France on holiday with my parents. They liked to travel about and towns and historical sites, etc, not beaches. I remember one being in a small restaurant and my Dad who was quite good at French not understanding what we were eating. It was a limited menu as I remember or maybe we were eating the dishes of the day. Whatever it was I didn't like it. Later my Dad got out his dictionary and announced we had just had brains. OMG! Are they still allowed to sell them after CJD became known about? Maybe Cj could tell me. I also remember that holiday having an artichoke for the first time. We had no idea how to eat it and so the waiter had to show us how to peel the leaves and tip in the oil. Never had one since although i do eat artichoke hearts.

Anything offal related - although when I was about 11 years old, I went to tea at a friend's house and had these delicious meatball things - I came home and told my mum that I'd had them and could she get some, they were called faggots! My parents laughed their socks off and when they told me what was in them, I was absolutely horrified and needless to say had no wish to ever eat one again (I've never quite worked out how that word ended up being used as a homophobic slur).

Beetroot. Just the smell makes me heave.
I’ll also go along with the snails. I can’t stand anything slimy.

No tripe for me either Linda 😀
Whelks, oysters and sea urchin will never pass my lips.
I like your faggot story Jax, I do like faggots, but they are a rare one on the menu.

Oysters - no way - slimy slithery things!! When in France at the French bike GP when I was about 20 - we went into a restaurant one night for a steak - Steak Du Cheval on the menu - I left. No way could I have eaten horse I'm afraid - love them too much.

I was listening to the radio this morning and they were talking about a brand new spread just recently launched, my ears perked up when they said ‘Cadbury’s Creme Egg Spread’, but then they went on to say it was Cadbury’s creme egg and Heinz mayonaise mixed together in a jar ....................... I don’t think I will be trying it, what do you think?

Sorry. Tapatalk seems to be acting up. I had a feeling I’d seen this thread before.
Just to add to the mince and onions on toast though, I remember when I was young and my mum would make plain mince, if there was any left over but not enough for a full meal she would put a poached egg on top of the mince. OMG I hated that. I’d rather starve. Even now that I’m not such a fussy eater I still wouldn’t eat it.
