Rubbish is what I want to say, or felt that way on Saturday evening, having eaten pretty much rubbish food all day.
Started with a crabstick sandwich which I craved after a long walk with the dog. I know that sandwiches are a no no for me as literally 15 minutes after consuming one, all I want to do is curl up and go to sleep. It's terrible. Put the crabsticks into a salad and I'm fine. To top it off on Saturday, it was rather a cold day so I added a mini pork pie and a handful of crisps to the plate.
The only way I ever have a non cooking day, is if we order a take away, which is exactly what happened in the evening. Shared some of my OH's chips from his fish meal and I had sweet and sour chicken, well half of that as I shared that with my son and pinched a couple of bits of his Shanghai Chicken Strips I can't even believe that I am owning up to this naming and shaming myself.
By 8.30 that evening I felt decidedly rubbish, topped off by watching a dire adaptation of Blithe Spirit, which I had been eagerly waiting to see.
I put myself to bed by 10.00 feeling so yucky and vowing never to consume such junk food again !!
It is so true, that if you stick to good fresh home cooked food, and very little processed that you feel far better physically and mentally.
Since then I have been a good girl and have thoroughly enjoyed my greens and homemade soup this lunchtime, which is why I am able to chat away here this afternoon instead of snoozing........
Does anyone else feel the same way ?
