Captain Tom Moore has been taken into hospital with Covid!
I assumed that at 100 he'd have been amongst the first to have the jab, but maybe it hadn't started working when he was exposed to the virus. Let's hope that as he always says, 'tomorrow is a good day'.

My daughter sent me the news. How coincidental that this is what my FIL had. I, too, was very surprised Captain Tom went to Barbados at Christmas. Can you get travel insurance for someone if that age was my first thought. I sincerely hope he recovers.
They said on the news this morning that the trip to Barbados was a gift to him and his family from a travel company - apparently he had visiting The Oval cricket ground in Barbados on his bucket list, so he probably thought it was a "now or never" opportunity. He got to meet his favourite cricketer too, so I guess it was an opportunity he simply couldn't turn down.
I really hope he pulls through, but if the worst happens, what an amazing last year he has had - raising all that money for the NHS, a knighthood, a number one single, a book, my goodness what a lot he has packed in ..... a darnsight more than most 100 year olds do in a whole lifetime.
