My son has just informed me it’s pancake day tomorrow. Mine never turn out that great. Can someone give me a foolproof recipe please.
I usually use the recipe from the BeRo book. It’s 4oz flour, 1 egg and half a pint of milk. I usually at least double up as we can eat a lot and it’s the one day of the year when I allow myself syrup ( as to me that’s the best topping)
I think it needs more egg in it but I don’t want it to be too omelette like.

That recipe sounds about right Magggzzz. My menfolk aren't keen on them anymore. I found using a smaller frying pan helped me. I also use lard to cook the pancakes in.

Maggzz, your recipe sounds good. Try making your mix up and leaving it a couple of hours before you use it.

Sorry I didn’t see your post earlier Magggzzz. My granddaughter can’t eat eggs so her mum makes pancakes without and uses oat milk. They taste delicious. Hope you’ve been successful with yours.

My OH made us American-style blueberry pancakes for lunch on Tuesday - naughty, but very nice

I didn't make any because I am too lazy, despite OH hinting. Hope yours turned out well Magggzz. I don't like pancakes much, well not in the sweet form. My mum used to make savoury ones

Thought about recipes in bed after posting and remembered that I have always used Delia Smith in the past with success.

ALthough I live them, I too was lazy - just not in the frame of mind to cook, so had crumpets with cheese and jam instead. Lush
