...and all that ...from this time next week we can meet up with a special person who we haven't seen for some time, makes me feel very cheerful and grateful...I hope that makes you all feel cheerful too...including you Linda .
Today I am going to start a big declutter of my wardrobe...I have been watching Marie Kondo on you tube, and am going to have a go at her 'Spark joy' approach...which is basically, hold an item of clothing in your hands for a few moments, close your eyes and connect with the piece and how it makes you feel, if the piece makes you feel happy, and joyful keep it, if not chuck it....that is a very simplified version of 'spark joy'.
You can apply this to any room apparently, however, my thought's on that are...I do not think I would get much spark joy from closing my eyes and connecting with a potato masher , however I can see it applying to clothes, shoes etc...we'll see could take me some time!
I am also going to try and work out how to attach photos on to the forum, then I can upload the before pics of the 'bedroom' makeover on the Narnia board...'tis a slow process... ...that will certainly 'spark joy' when it is finished...when!
Have a cheerful Monday girls, thinking of you VWCF x
I was half expecting the 'pinch punch' comment to come from LL, Cj Is it a Northern saying ?
I should be saying Happy St. David's Day today, seeing as I am Welsh and live in that beloved land of the gods.
Loving your enthusiasm for Marie Kondo, which I did practice on my underwear drawer to great effect although keeping it slotted in their specific compartments takes precision and patience In truth in this lockdown I am actually living and loving my minimal wardrobe as it takes away so much pressure. I do wonder how quickly I will resort to the past life. I would love to say never ! as I am certainly more relaxed about things these days, but I feel that gradually some form will re-appear.
In Wales we are allowed to meet and have a walk with a couple, so I am hoping to catch up with my sister at the weekend to do just that.
Looking forward to the pictures Cj, I am an avid interiors junky.
The sun has atlast shown it's face here today, we need as much Vitamin D as possible now.
Happy first of the month, March always gives you that "spring nearly here" feeling I am all for the minimal approach to my wardrobe, I've never hung onto clothing unless it's for painting.
It's great to know that you can meet up with someone special, is that just locally though? or can I travel 8 hours to them?
Happy St Davids SD
I too am looking forward to seeing your photos in Narnia, just get your sizing right, is it no more than 1MB per photo? my camera always takes enormous photos and I spend ages resizing them by pixels to get the criteria. Add attachment, browse your files, open photo, upload, insert, done
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.

Yippee it’s March! We’ve had so much sunshine over the last few weeks that I have been ignoring indoor work in favour of being in the garden. That means I look on here less than I would but I’ve come inside for a rest and a drink. I’ve been digging up moss in our gravel drive and big weeds, then putting it into a sieve so I don’t throw out the gravel. Then putting the soil on a flower bed and the weedy bits in a bag. My right hand has not been happy with all my toils. Could it be arthritis or just over use? I was reminded my a cousin at the weekend that all the females in our family have suffered with it. I’ve pegged out washing on the last 3 days. That makes me cheery too. I like the sparkly joy idea and must give it a go. I keep hearing of Marie Kondo but no idea who she is or what she does. Attaching photos is a nightmare for me Cj as I only have a Mack book and struggle to reduce the size of photos. I end up emailing them to myself as yahoo seems to do the reducing for me. Then I have to save them again. Good luck!
