Our whole team got our first of two anti covid shots this week . Officially the vaccine is not available here but we were able to get ours thru connections and am sure a pay off .All very secret with us getting 4 hours notice, told not to tell any any of the local staff at the hotel where our offices are . To be a nice guy our boss added the Filipino IT guy we have .We left in groups of 2's/3's .
Very Filipino with armed guards at the hospital both outside our waiting room and outside the room where we got stuck. Plenty of affluent looking Filipino's waiting for their turn .
Didn't hurt when I was jabbed but my arm got sore later. They say the after effects of the second shot are worse............ But it is worth the pain .
I think the biggest status symbol in the world today is a band aid on one's upper right shoulder
I'm sure it's a relief to have the first shot Moi. Do you know which one you had?
I saw that the Spanish princesses had had their first shot in Dubai visiting their father and it was given the thumbs down by the media.
My OH had his yesterday. It was the Astra Zenica vaccine. Not a sore arm today, just a bit of a headache, so working from home.
I feel listening to the news that us Brits are rallying to the foe with the vaccines, as Europe gave our vaccine a bad press to begin with, a bit of us and them now, we'll show you whose vaccine is the best ! The majority of Brits don't seem to have a problem getting the vaccination whilst in Europe, particularly France I think, barely any of the population have taken up the offer, which will cause more variants to appear the longer they leave it.
If ever we thought of ourselves as an island, I think it is now that it is definitely apparent, if that makes sense
No, I haven't , I don't think we get ours until end of April/May. Will be very glad to have it though
I was thinking..what about the people who are not accounted for in this country. Anyone who is here illegally and off the radar? how are they going to get themselves protected? they are not going to be called up to have it. It would be wise for the government to give some kind of amnesty so these people can get the vaccine.
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
I think you have to have 2 shots of both the Pfizer & Oxford/Astra Zeneca - ideally 3 weeks apart but they've gone with 12 weeks apart to try to get more people vaccinated. OH is 61 and he got his letter yesterday, has booked for Wednesday evening

Well neither myself nor my OH have had any reaction so far so hoping we will be ok in the morning. Someone in my family also had it today and has put a post on Facebook about how ill she feels. She makes me so cross because it could put people off who have yet to have it. Why would you post?!! Facebook have attached a message which reads about how the vaccine has been well tested, etc. First time I’ve ever felt pleased with FB in doing something right. Bellatrix I think you’ll get yours sooner than you expect. A friend in her late 50s was able to book today without receiving her letter so I think they are now working on 55+ I had the AZ one.
