Did anyone rush out to breath different air than your back garden today ? Wales has been able to see 4 people in the garden for a few weeks, but not journey too far until this Saturday just gone.
My sister and brother-in-law came over on Saturday and helped us cut two trees in the garden. Haven't seen them since before Christmas and it was lovely to catch up, but I am also quite happy not to rush about meeting up with people regularly.
I went to have my hair cut and coloured last week and followed onto the supermarket. Both of which I had not visited since Christmas. It took nearly all day just to do those two things ! I thought to myself, what a waste of a day
The following day I had arranged to meet my daughter early to buy plants at a garden centre for her shop front and to re-pot, getting it ready for April 12th. Again by the time I got home, bringing back all the rubbish and dead plants to sort out ! I was absolutely tuckered !!
Two busy days, started to stress me out, so this week I am trying to keep it quieter.
Goodness Linda, frost ...not what you need at all is it? It is 17 degrees here in East Yorkshire, whilst it is warm and very sunny, I think I shall be concentrating on our neglected courtyard garden, we haven't been able to do much since we moved here in Oct, so a good day to start. I don't really fancy joining the throngs quite yet.
We are having a new boiler fitted tomorrow, plumber and gas engineer will be around for a week or so as it has to be relocated also ,I hope the weather continues to be fine for the next few days, as I have a feeling the courtyard may be getting lots of attention whilst that is being done
It’s a beautiful warm and sunny day here in Cambridgeshire. We’ve been for a walk but nothing else. I’m counting the minutes until Friday when we can go and see number 1 son and our 2 grandson who we haven’t seen since Christmas! Then Saturday with numbers 3&4 plus little grandson. It’ll still be a while before we can get down to Brighton but everything is moving in the right direction! 😎
Nope, not here - still staying at home and going for walks . I have loved being able to see my boys except the one in Brighton but a little while longer and we can go. The sun shining makes a massive difference don’t you think?
Sorry, I missed this thread before. I liked your posts and thought how lovely that you have been meeting up with people I haven't gone anywhere that I haven't been this past year, I literally forgot other things were available, in such a habit. I don't feel like going out anymore than I have been. I understand that anxiety remark SD. I've enjoyed less people about and don't know how I would now feel in an environment with more crowds/people/queuing etc. We are going to my sons in a couple of weeks though and we are really excited to do that. Just an overnight stay but long enough to give away plenty of hugs.
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
Since my last post, I have lived in the garden of gone off walking my pal. Have no desire to view the shops either. Lovely to hear that meeting family is on the cards for some of you. Catching up with my sister again next week, just taking it slowly....
I haven't done anything different this week than I have for the last 6 months ... click & collect supermarket shop, no visiting pubs/cafes, I did go into the office for a couple of hours yesterday for the first time in quite a while (there was only one other person there and we stayed in different rooms & wore masks) - I think it'll take a while before I feel confident enough to go to the shops, and working on the basis that there's going to have been lots of people going before me, I bet anything I want will be out of stock anyway!
I have never been a browsing shopper, so internet deliveries suit me fine.
Have spent the last two days getting to grips with mowing our paddock which had gone totally to pot !! I should have muscles like Popeye after pushing the mower. Feel a good job done though and whilst the sun is shining I am quite happy to potter about getting loads of jobs done.
Realised how much money I could fritter away if I physically went somewhere. The only place I am keen to go to is the garden centre to buy some plants, but probably going to wait till May, which is only round the corner as still a few frosty mornings.
