My YD is up from London ready for another dental appointment. What were we going to do tomorrow, Saturday, she asked? We ended up catching the train to Liverpool and having a fun day. Had a few returns to make, had a lovely lunch , then the 2 of us had a good old mooch. What’s everyone else been busy doing?
Hi LL, we have been wallpapering two toilets today , OH and I decided we would do one each.....and most importantly for OH he was allowed to choose his own colours and 'theme'
Well, all I can say is so far his looks like an accident waiting to happen. He is determined his 'toilet' is going to be decorated with whatever paints, materials etc we already have, he is Cornish and very 'careful' with money ...his is looking very scary.
We have been to a lovely local fish restaurant tonight, there were a group pf ladies there, probably about 12 of them, celebrating a 60th birthday.....in the end we were all celebrating with them...brilliant.
More photos required on your house thread Cj! I thought it was folk from Yorkshire who are careful with money, not heard that about Cornish people. What are you going to do when the house is all finished?
Sounds like you had a lovely day LL, never been to Liverpool, OH went there every year to take the ferry to Ireland for their fishing annual fishing trip, boys will be boys etc 🙄
Very productive day for you Cj, yes I know that sinking feeling, when OH took control of ‘his’ bathroom, tiled from top to bottom, looks like a public loo 😬🤬
Lovely spontaneous day out for you LL and with your daughter, a bonus. I've been to Liverpool a lot. My grandparents were stationed there for several years. My grandad was an inspector in the military police, they had a fab officers house in the barracks. Derby Rd? think that's right. My Granny used to walk me miles around the Liverpool markets to get the best deals on things. I truly loved my grandparents (he was my step grandad) such great memories of staying with the. OH took YD to the Tate in Liverpool not that many years ago to see the Calder exhibition and Francis Bacon, Rothko too.
Yes, photos please of the throne room please cj, love to see the mess men make when they've chosen the decoration. Heres a thing, my OH will argue with me over paint colours and he's actually Colour Blind, figure that one? Love the impromptu birthday gathering Cj, good times when you least expect them.
Saturday I had a girlfriend over, so a really nice time and in the evening a male friend came over to dine with us, so quite a busy fun day.
Hope your day was good too Jazzy, chores can be very satisfying, I agree. I emptied the entire airing cupboard today and re folded everything, not kidding, it made me feel very organised.
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
Had a spontaneous visit from my daughter and her boyfriend - as their central heating wasn't working and their shower is broken, so they thought they'd come and stay, which was lovely
We started tidying my old WT shed, which has been turned into the prop shop for my daughters shop window displays. Out to friends for a lazy take away supper and a catch up, but I have to say we were all home and tucked up by 10.30 We appear to be running out of steam with the socialising. It's all too hectic and exhausting.
Can't wait for the clocks to change and the nights draw in I have never said that before !
