Has anyone else noticed that Christmas seems to have come early this year? There are quite a few houses here that have really gone for the full whammy. All my decorations are still in the shed, give it another 10 days or so and our granddaughter will be wanting to get everything out!

I always thought of December being the month to start getting your decorations out of storage. Nothing much to see around here at the moment Trisha, light wise on peoples houses. Last Christmas we were in the middle of moving, we usually had 3 christmas trees at the old house as the size could take it, I think here it will have to be 1 not very big one because the new lounge furniture has taken the best spot for a large tree. Used to have lots of greenery going up all the balustrades too, now i have no stairs!
While we were in John Lewis the other day, I was trying to think what decs would suit a 60s house, as I looked up I noticed JLs had huge baubles hanging in clusters from the ceiling in various colours - then just by chance in the charity shop, I saw a basket of HUGE baubles, bingo, these are now going to be suspended from the ceiling in my glass hallway.
It's going to be so much fun for you and your little one to decorate together, precious moments
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
My granddaughter says that her friends are decorated already, she wanted to do it last weekend but her Mum said it was too early and they will do it this weekend.
Starting mine probably next weekend as I prefer a December start, can’t believe I used to put our tree up only two weeks before the 25th, how my youngest used to moan at me, feel bad about it now, those big baubles are a nice idea B, they will look just right in a hallway.
Thanks Jazzy I'm pretty sure when I was a kid the decorations didn't go up until about a week before the 25th and came down on 6th Jan, perhaps people just want to get their moneys worth, a lot of effort goes into some families Christmases, so I guess it makes it worth the effort to have them up longer.
When my kids were younger a family we were friendly with used to go and choose a tree on Christmas eve and Christmas eve was really special as they would spend that evening decorating the tree, having festive food and drink while they did it, bit of a tree party which is a nice idea too

When our children were little, we used to say that when the advent calendar door revealed a Christmas tree. We would put the tree up. It backfired one year when it was behind the second door!

😂😂😂Trisha, made me laugh 😂
Going to have a mini spring clean in the sitting room today, I always do this before the tree takes her spot by the fireplace 👍
