I have signed up for this challenge this year in the hope of pushing myself to get out more. I love walking but at the moment it is limited to miles I do walking Fred. I aim to complete the 1000 miles (I am counting all mileage as per my FitBit - then for all miles after that I will be putting 10 pence/mile in a jar. At the end of the challenge that cash will go to two Greyhound Rescue charities. Just wondered if any of you have signed up or even heard of this?
I haven't heard of it VW but sounds like a briliant challenge, well done to you, hope you reach the 1000. I do walk far more now I live in the town, my car is practically redundant but I don't like the air quality in the town, I can really feel the difference:(
There is a lot to be said for being part of a group, and the support and friendship that is gained from this.
I visited a friend in Edinburgh one. I came out the train station, and started to struggle to get a breath. I thought I was having an attack, and I was in my thirties at the time. It finally dawned on me from the awful smell that it was just exhaust fumes, and I would 'get used' to it shortly.
I did, but it is interesting how city dwellers live, and what they call 'normal'.
