You may remember my posts in the craft section of the Minion hats? Well I put one up for auction for a Greyhound Rescue Charity - they have quarterly on-line charity auctions to raise cash to run the kennels. They work so blooming hard so every little bit helps. A lovely lady kept bidding and won the hat, which was great, then she e-mailed about the Pokeman hats and I ended up making her 2 - and she has donated again to the charity as I wouldn't take anything for making them.
Lo and behold, last night I get an e-mail from some guy saying could he have a large Minions one too - and included his head size and address details lol. I explained I had just donated one hat on this auction but he didn't take the hint. He said he will also send cash to the charity - I felt like saying hey I'm not a charity lol.
Really don't mind at all, just funny that the lady has been so lovely and offered several times to cover the wool and postage etc, but he hasn't offered. So at some stage today I need to try and get to the wool shop as totally out of yellow! Then two evenings to make it, then somehow try to get to the post office again....
I try and give as much as I can, and we are going to the charity dog show on Sunday with dozens of dog themed cakes - this is a 2 hour drive away. Plus the 4 hats made and a few items purchased on the auction.
OH thinks I'm mad lol
I really don't know why I feel irked about this guy's message though - I was chuffed the lady asked and she was smashing about it, but he just seemed to expect me to do one for him at my expense without even asking if it was ok?
Am I getting old and grumpy? lol
