Hi B, I wondered if you could give me some ideas from the foliage plants you used in your new town garden? I have an area at the back of my cottage (away from the millions of bunnies who eat everything I plant elsewhere) where I have a few pots of flowers but I think foliage - some evergreen but maybe a few deciduous too - would really add to it. I thought about a Japanese Acer too. All suggestions welcome Thank you X

I am usually the Morticia Adams of the gardening word BS but things seem to be growing quite well so far. We have planted several different varieties of Bamboo Castor oil plants Canary island Date Palm (it's huge) A red spiky thing Cordeli... something A couple of spiky palms, panicking now as I can't remember the names! Some ferns and a Wooly Tree fern Banana plant (they need to be covered in the winter) The idea was that the garden wouldn't look dead in the winter and it would be always green as I was/am missing the countryside. Its only a little garden but I will take a photo tomorrow and post it:)

Ah, that is so helpful, B! Thank you so much. I will make a note of the plants. When I had my little town garden for a year, it did make a huge difference to grow and tend to plants, and you might be lucky and discover all sorts of wildlife moves in now too. Is there a river or park where you can walk? That's what I did. Am sure you're not the Morticia Adams of plants, lol x

I think Id better send it by PM if I can, because it will appear to the public and seeing as I've just sold my house could be leaving a paper trail if you know what I mean
