I listen to Drystone on Tuesdays for the writers’ bookshelf. Hubs listens on Monday for the Northern Soul. He also listens to Radio 2 on sat morning for the 60s show. We both listen to Rylan on radio 2. I have smooth or local Metro on at work, and hubs has radio York on on Saturday evenings for their northern soul show.
I have loads of playlists on Spotify including sounds of nature, classical, movie music, and TV theme tunes. I cannot go a day without listening to some kind of music.

Not sure about the small doses but I would totally believe that, I mean that’s how we build up immunity to things.
I wear a mask when I have to, and more often than not, we/I only go out for shopping, work, and the occasional “trip” but that’s just us, we don’t meet up with anyone.
At work we have to wear visors when serving the children and when we are in the school hall. In the kitchen, it’s out discretion but we have to be apart. The children are all sat on the same sides of the tables, not face to face, but try telling them to stay at arms length or not face each other, and I guarantee you are fighting a losing battle. They just don’t care, or don’t ‘get it’. You can explain all you like as then as soon as you turn your back, they turn to each other and start poking, tapping, playing hand-clap games and generally invade each others’ space without a backwards glance.
Although I’ve been in the kitchens 11 years, I’ve just completed my first full year as a cook-in-charge, and in that year, things have changed five times. It’s no wonder people are getting fed up and complacent.

I'm starting to get really angry with the government as they don't seem to know their asses from their elbows. The rules are all so confusing and really don't take anyone's personal situatons into account.
I had a work email today detailing the latest round of changes, it seems that you can meet in the open air with someone from your "support bubble" but you're only supposed to have a support bubble if you're a single mother/father, and your support bubble can only be made up of one other single father/mother!
As we don't have grandchildren, Hubs and I are not allowed to see Girlie at all - as she has her own home/job/etc. But we are allowed to go to work where hubs mixes with ten other people and I mix with up to 15 adults, three at close proximity, and up to 100 children every day.
Teaching staff have now been added to the list of people eligible to get tested whether they have symptoms or not - but not school support staff, school catering staff, school cleaners, or school office staff.
We are queuing outside shops again,
Half the public are panic buying toilet roll and the other half are going to pubs/restaurants and then gathering in the streets as 10pm to carry on the party.
A pathologist has told girlie that the covid test can't test for covid-19, and that regular colds and flu are all part of the covid group of viruses and so if you have a regular cold or flu, you will test positive. Which answers the question as to why some people die, and some people survive with little more than a few days' illness.
Girlie is now on the hunt for the truth and is determined to change the world - she's setting up groups called "Stop the Plandemic" so look out for her! (she's harmless but definitely onto something - so long as it gives her focus and stops her getting upset about the death of the planet)
When is all this maddness going to stop!?

I've been doing it for about 26 years, I did teach an after-school class at my children's primary school in it for a few years before they left there, but I haven't done it for a few years. Recently had a good sort out and got the bug for it again. Currently working on a ship in a bottle, a cob horse (which I had charted from a picture I took) and have a New York skyline with glow in the dark threads on my "to be stitched" pile.

I'm hoping for some me-time this weekend. Hubs always wants to go out shopping etc and really doesn't mind where we end up as long as we're together - but he's starting to complain about feeling the cold etc - he is 63 after all, but sometimes I really don't want to spend the day tripping around on the metro going to five different towns drinking coffee and lugging bags. I get that we are lucky to still be "in love" after 25 years of marriage and as he spends all week stuck in an office, it's nice to get out.
But I spend all week in a hot sweaty busy kitchen and sometimes need some down time at the weekend where I can get my things done, like shutting myself away in the office writing/crafting or baking, studying, etc.
Sorry, went off at a tangent there - anyways, as he's off for some tattoo work on Saturday, I'm taking myself off to Seaham beach on the trail of some stunning glass! I have a new hand rake to save my fingers, wireless earphones, bag, camera, flask of tea, and UV torch (for glow in the dark glass).
Knowing my luck, I'll fall in the surf and be piss wet through in an hour!

I spent some time at Seaham recently. Guess what we were looking for, seaglass! Our little one was running in and out of the sea, it was freezing. Our daughter has a friend in America, he was absolutely thrilled when she sent him some.
Trisha
we could’ve walked past each other!! In was their with girlie and her new man the other evening, in the rain. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Hubs won’t let me go alone in the evening as it’s a twenty minute car journey through Sunderland first, so I had an entourage haha. Did I tell you about girlie’s new man? Oh he’s lovely.

We are in a sort of mini lockdown, insofar as we aren’t supposed to have more than six people in a group. The panic buying has started again up here though, and I’m still working, as is my other half and my daughter.
Pirate glass is fab, it looks like a black pebble until you shine a torch though it and you see its colours. I’ve jays bought myself a waterproof torch with a UV setting to take with me as I’m sure I miss more than I collect.

I have never mastered pastry, although I’m getting there, but whichever works for you is best. It was my nan who taught me the half fat to flour rule, and always have cold hands and utensils. I know too much water can make it go hard.
You can use whichever jam you like. I use strawberry or raspberry but it’s up to you. Enjoy x
