I have been going on for weeks about putting things on E-bay to sell this year but just didn't seem to find the enthusiasm. ES offered to help and so took ages to put a pair of red shoes that were a Matalan buy, never worn and given to me by someone else.
So I said put them on as buy now for a few pounds and with postage it came to about £6.
Today I had an e-mail to say they had sold and thought I must put more on, never expecting them to be sold. When I looked at the summary properly my ES had forgotten to put on the BUY NOW priceand the person has bought them for 0.01p!!!!! plus P&P
It would have been cheaper to put them in the bin !!
I had a friend that used to sell a lot on EBay and he told me he used to buy as many womens shoes as he could from charity shops and then put them on with a story, for example "They belonged to a nurse who only wore them on nights out". I think that's what he said but it might have been a bit more salacious. Anyway he said they always used to sell quickly. Perverts apparently look for stuff like that. Yuk!!
I have sold some junk that was too large for our dustbin. An outside gas heater, umbrella style went for £12, and an old car exhaust went for £5. The broken hoover had to be broken to fit into the bin, as did the horrible couch. But if you put them on for 99p, and they dont sell it is free.
I heard about the nurses shoes, apparently air hostesses' are even better.
Our daughter in law is a whizz at selling and buying things on eBay. She (and our son) have even delivered larger items. They have been all over the country and have met some lovely people. They have even been given tea and bacon sandwiches. I have looked on eBay a couple of times, but never bought, or sold, anything.

I still a lot of mine in the show boxes they came in. Although the likes of M&S no longer supply boxes, which is a good thing in one way, but when you are spending £60-80 on a pair of gents shoes and they just put them in a bag .....
I love wellies VWC and would have a variety of those given the chance
