i.e vitamins, minerals etc on a regular basis? Approx two years ago I twisted my left knee whilst climbing a steep hill, we were touring France at the time and so I just used ibuprofen to manage it, and eventually started wearing a knee support thingy. I was advised to rest it and keep taking the painkillers. I followed this advice for while, but really didn't want to stay on painkillers for too long. I searched online to find info re the best minerals and supplements for a knackered knee. The one supplement that was often referred to for joint problems was turmeric, as it is a strong anti inflammatory. I have been taking a combined turmeric, curcumin, ginger and black pepper capsule, for about 18 months now and my knee is almost 100% again . I also take an Omega 3 oil capsule with it. I do think that you do have to persevere with the supplements and not give in after just a few weeks. I really did think my knee would be ruined for good. We have lots of stairs at home, the house is 3 storeys, hardly causes me a problem at all now. I have also got all of us as a family on Vit D3 supplements as there is increasing evidence this is very effective in warding off C-19....David Davis (remember him?) is even advocating D3 should be available on prescription. We have a healthy diet, we don't eat much meat, mostly fish, I do think though sometimes the body needs an extra helping hand....mine does most days

Great news about the knee Cj,
Thumbs up for the turmeric too, my mum has been taking capsules like those.
I do take supplements. I have taken D3 (literally a cure all)for several years and I totally agree, you have to take these things for a good while to see the benefits. People are looking for a quick fix (understandably if in a lot of pain or discomfort) and often just don't give supplements enough time to work.
I also take Starflower everyday, it's been a life saver since I haven't been able to see my TCM doctor during lockdown. Life saver of my OH, it keeps my hormones balanced so I don't kill him
Also take Omega, 3, 6, 9 for heart, eyes and joints. I had palindromic rheumatism for 3 years, it came out of the blue due to stress. Dr Ying fixed it with TCM haven't had it since but like to keep joints at optimum as a safeguard.
Everyday for breakfast I have 3 cubes of Jelly...because "There is evidence that gelatin may reduce joint and bone pain, increase brain function and help reduce the signs of skin aging.", because gelatin contains collagen

I’ve been taking Vit D too since it became a thing in the news to help guard against Covid. I’m rather hit and miss with other supplements as I buy them then forget to take them. I read about turmeric years ago and tried to cook with it a lot to help my YD who suffers with an immunosuppressant disease.

Just D3 for me. I am naughty for forgetting to take tablets, but these are on my desk at work, so when I log into pc I see them and take one lol. My levels were apparently nearly non existant, so doc started me on very high dose once a week, now on a maintenance dose.

I’ve had to look up D3! I thought D was just D but I now know better! Mine is D3 although that’s in small writing on the label.

That is interesting about the jelly cubes Bella..I shall give that a go for sure.
How long have you been taking D3 Linda?...stay with it, I started taking biotin a few years ago as a result of my hair not being as bouncy and thick due to a thyroid issue...... after 6 months I could see hardly any difference and thought it was probably a waste of time...I persevered and now, after 2 years I can honestly say I am delighted with the results, really, has made a big difference....my nails have never been in such good condition also...an unexpected bonus.

Yes, it takes a while to get your D3/D levels up, also the RDA is sometimes the "least" you should be taking. Mine is a 5000mg. Some someone with deficiencies in this should be taking way more than the RDA on over the counter vits.
